The Flowers Were A Mistake
Just got off the phone with my dad. I thought he was calling to tell me what a nice gesture the flowers were, but instead he actually yelled at me for showing him up and making him look bad.
My dad said it was “inappropriate” and “weird” for me to just send my mom (his wife) flowers like that, being that it wasn’t her birthday or Mother’s Day. At first I got defensive, but the more I thought about it the more I realized he was right.
I admitted my mistake and apologized. Then he told me not to rush home for Thanksgiving. Good one, dad (pretty sure he was kidding).
